Why it works

From negative reinforcement to learning skills growth

Struggling learners can get caught in a cycle that negatively reinforces their low confidence and self-esteem. This increases the barriers to learning they experience, resulting in lower attainment and learning skills development. Learning coaching introduces practical support and strategies children can use to access learning independently, building their confidence and self-esteem.

About me

Twenty years working alongside children who learn differently

I am a qualified secondary-school teacher and SENCO with over 20 years' experience working in mainstream and specialist settings with pupils aged 4–18 years old.

I am a child-centred practitioner who recognises every child and young person is unique and therefore requires an individualised approach. I work with children and young people to identify their strengths and needs. I then use this to develop strategies they can implement to overcome learning challenges.

I am a kind, warm-hearted, passionate educator who is motivated to help children develop the skills and confidence they need to learn. Education is one of the most important protective measures in a child's life; however, many experience barriers to learning both in the classroom and at home. This not only negatively impacts their academic progress, but can also affect their self-confidence, esteem, and overall wellbeing.

Located in Winchester — in-person consultations across Hampshire, with virtual appointments also available.

My approach

Stretching the comfort zone, one step at a time

My goal is to support children and young people to stretch their comfort zone — to work alongside them as they develop their learning skills and confidence to face challenges. This supports their academic progress and, more importantly, their self-confidence, esteem, and overall wellbeing.

I create bespoke support packages with each child or young person and monitor and review them to ensure they are effective.

I also provide further support and advice regarding parenting and learning support in education settings as required. I'm flexible in my approach and will adapt to your child's needs and progress.

Please note: I will work with your child to achieve the best outcome and help them grow. However, I am not providing a guaranteed specific outcome.
